Frequently named as one of the best countries in the world for mountain biking The Caledonia Way, National Route 78 of the National Cycle Network, runs from Campbeltown to Inverness and passes close by offering a variety of cycling from challenging on-road to lengthy sections of traffic free path.
The nearby villages of Benderloch and Connel (3 miles) are thriving communities offering a broad range of facilities including primary schools, post office, village shop, petrol station, restaurants & cafe; with a health centre and railway station in Connel for regular services to Glasgow.
Oban (7 miles) has a great range of independent specialist shops, supermarkets, art galleries, restaurants and professional services as well as a brand new high school, hospital, leisure centre, cinema, theatre and a wide range of sport’s clubs & societies.
There is a bus service to and from Oban that passes Achnacree Bay, Connel train station, before then calling at Oban train station and Oban High School.
Oban is also the ferry terminal to the Western Isles, while Oban & The Isles Airport is located at Connel to enjoy island hopping and welcomes private pilots and commercial charters from around the UK and Europe.

On the west coast of Scotland it is possible to sample some of the best cuisine that Scotland has to offer from an eclectic selection of first class award winning gourmet restaurants, to pubs, bars and bistros.

The plots at Achnacree are large and fully serviced with extensive water and mountain views. They have mains electricity, mains water, full fibre broadband, private foul waste system and the new adopted access road has been completed.
There is a private access track leading from the access road to the Loch side for the benefit
of residents and this will be suitable for launching kayaks and small sailing boats. In
addition, residents will have communal ownership of the beach frontage which extends
down to mean low water springs.
Residents have an entitlement to join the Achnacree Moorings Association which is
affiliated to West Highland Anchorages and Moorings AssociaGon (WHAM).
A factoring company will be appointed to maintain all the common areas and the private foul waste system with an annual fee payable by residents. It is not known how much this fee will be at present but it is not expected to be a significant cost and there is also a reduction on the council tax payable as the drainage system is private.
