The R.HOUSE concept has been under development since 2008. James MacQueen Builders and Rural Design Architects have a common interest in developing a new approach to low energy, low cost, pre-manufactured housing for the Highlands and Islands.
The first collaboration was the project “The Secret Garden”, completed in 2010 as part of Scotlands Housing Expo. This proved to be a highly popular design, and received very positive comments in reviews. Following the completion of The Secret Garden, the development of R.HOUSE gained momentum and the first project started onsite during March 2011.
We hope over the next few years to be able to contribute to the future development of housing in the Highlands.
